Ok folks, I keep getting asked this so I am posting instructions for how you should all upload your images for printing.

All your files will need to be in folders which are named in mind of the size and finish. E.g. 6x4 Gloss, 16x12 Matt.....etc you get the idea.

If you are uploading numerous jobs and you want them keeping seperate you can place these folders within a folder with your customers name, ie Ashton Sizes Enc

Also for the duplicated images you should make copies of that file in the same folder. That way we simply run 1 of each in every folder. However if you have a large run of duplications ie 2 sets of proofs. You would then name a folder 5x4 Gloss 2 of Each

Hope this helps, and a big thankyou :icon_nice to you all for such a great response to the service. If anyone has more questions on FTP post them here and I will respond.

Dave

Sorry for the delay Lee, busy weekend. Anyway to your point. For the easiest way to send your files you can use simply use your browser (Internet Explorer) If you click on the following link: -

ftp://ftp.ashtonphotographics.co.uk/

This should open I.Explorer and prompt you to enter your username and password which Martin has already provided you with. Once entered this takes you to your folder on our server. (It will be empty) How all you need to do is drag and drop your files into the folder and they will start to upload. If you look at the FTP instructions posted earlier you will see how we prefer to recieve files for printing.

You can also use FTP software to do this, for example we use Cute FTP Pro (others available) Think this cost about £50 at the time. There are freeware FTP programes also available. We need such programmes due to the amount of files we deal with, you might find the first example a good place to start though. If you need more help give me a shout.
