That's ok. My non Canon batteries don't claim to be Canon so they must be ok! Seriously I've been using non Canon BP511s for 2 years without any problems.

i use the canon Bp11 equivelans from 7 day shop.
Theye great and a tenth of the cost of the real ones.
only complaint is some of them are a tight fit in the battery grip.

I have two NB-2L equivalents bought from 7Dayshop for back-up. The fit the camera / grip perfectly and so far they seem to perform just as well as the (real) Canon branded version.
£12 (for two!) plays £84. If I was a pro I might think twice.

My only gripe is that the non-Canon batteries do not seem to hold their charge well.
They show "fully charged" on the charger - but in the camera they quickly (within 5 minutes) drop to half-battery indicator.
I'll admit to not running them until they expire so I don't know if it's just a dodgy display for those batteries. I wouldn't trust them expiring early during a commission.
I have the battery grips attached and so carry AA loaded holders as back-up anyway.
The price difference is just staggering though - good old Canon!
Cheers
Mark
