Hi Andy
Can't comment on your images, since I am not a competent people photographer. So, my comments are restricted to the layout of your website.
Looks fine in most respects, but I thought the text format was perhaps not in sympathy with the photographs. The text seems too large or perhaps you should consider a different font. I felt the problem was most noticeable in the Katie & Dan sections. The large text between the images seemed to me to be battling with the images for attention.
In the portfolio section, some of your images are butted right up against each other. Again, I think your images might look better if they were separated. I know it can be time consuming, but perhaps even a boundary of some sort round the images would make them stand out more from the background.
I have been told that Storm7 on this forum is THE website expert. Perhaps he can either shoot my suggestions down in flames, and/or come up with more concrete advice.
Enjoyed looking at your website, and as always am totally astounded that anyone should willingly become a wedding photographer. My stomach churns even thinking about the few I have been pressured into doing by family members.
Best wishes
Dennis

Many thanks for your comments, I only changed the font a couple of days ago, as I felt the other was not in keeping with the photos. I think I will have another go!
Once again thanks for your time and comments

Hi,
I think Martin was being kind when he said I was the website expert - apart from additional images, I've not changed mine for at least 4 years - (lazy eh?) I used to work for an e-commerce company - but on the back office systems - so I'm no designer etc.
I can do bits and bobs - but, clearly, I'm no designer - just look at my web site and you'll see ...
I am going to update my website next year ...
Anyway, my tuppence worth - I've looked at the site briefly on different machines - on one, the text is a 'handwritten' font etc - on an other, it's plain - so, unless the site is designed using a 'standard' font - it can be seen differently depending on what fonts are installed on the machine.
Also, as mentioned by Dennis, the images are a little too close together for my liking - maybe try putting your images into a table ?
My stomach churns even thinking about the few I have been pressured into doing by family members.
Never, ever, ever, ever do wedding for people you know, especially not family members, there's just way too much pressure to perform, and it's difficult 'organising' your family members...

I agree 100%. The worst weddings I can remember are family and friends. Oh no there was one worse - St Maxentius Church and then ?????????? Oh I cant remember it fully ---- GOD it was bad though

Thanks for your comments, I will look at using another font.
Yes, why do I put myself through sleepless nights before the Wedding day!
If I was really honest, I love the day itself, everybody is happy, nice venues, and a chance to capture somebody's best day in their life.
Its can be very rewarding, when the Bride and Groom see the pictures and they are so pleased with the results.
Thanks
Andy

I must be mad, I did all did all three childrens weddings!!!!! Thank god for long air releases and delayed action timers. I did have a bit of help from my late wife so it was not so bad. This was in the days of film using 'blads or 330's, today with electronic remote releases it would be a bit easier.
This started when my eldest daughter, the first to tie the knot, gave us six weeks notice that they were getting married, no not for the usual rush reasonhttp://www.wedding-photography.org/forum/images/smilies/biggrin.gif. There was not one fellow pro, who I'd trust with the job, free on the date so it was Hobsons choice. Having done that one the others insisted that I did theirs.
Unless you've kids like mine who have grown up being shot by dad, plenty of time and very understanding guests it's not a practice I'd reccomend!
