If you want a good reasonably priced RAW conversion prog try Bibble. Named after a cat, it's very good. The latest version comes with Noise Ninja incorporated. About $130 for the Pro version, this includes future upgrades.
I bought my copy in 2002 for $90 when I was using E10/20's and stopped using it when I got the Leica as Bibble did/does not support the D2/LC1. However I thought I'd try the new version with the D200 and my up-grade from v3 to v4.3 was still free. The results are very clean and Noise Ninja works well at high ISO without destroying too much detail. Far better colour in difficult lighting than Nikon Capture, RSE or PS CS2 results and the process is very intuative.
I'll post a couple of pics latter when I'm on the other computer.
www.bibblelabs.com for details.

Shot on D200 f1.8 50mm Nikkor 1/15 @ f2.8 ISO1600
Strange when saving for web an image can loose saturation, in this case it's a lot darker and more saturated. Maybe a side effect of Bibble, I'll have to try another pic.

For my RAW convertion and workflow i use Pixmantec Essentials 2006.
Its free and is absolutly fantastic. May be over the top descriptivly, but the work flow has been simplified alot.

I used cs raw, but it drained my system with batch, now i use Rawshooter Premium, its amazing, its quick, it opensn photos straight into cs for further adjustments such as cloning and a sharpen, im very impressed with it.

I used RSE and tried Premium but I find Bibble much better, the only disadvantage is it does not support the Leica.

I normally use Rawshooter Premium which I always liked. Following the original post I downloaded Libbi and gave it a try. I have to say I still prefer Rawshooter. If feels far more organised. Libbi confused me. The layout and the floating tool boxes kept changing and I was always looking for something in the wrong place. Appreciate a lot of that comes with experience but the results were not any different from the result I achieve with Rawshooter.
