Animated GIF from series of JPGs

Hello,

I am trying to create an animated GIF file from a series of 6 JPGs.

I am using Photoshop CS / Imageready and have found the animation pallete but I am having no joy. The help system assumes a basic knowledge and seems to want to lead you down the "creating from scratch" way. I have the JPGs already - I just want to animate them with a .5 second gap between each image with a smooth transition between them.

Can anyone suggest an easy/quick way to do this?

I haven't got imageready here at work so from memory an easy way is...

Put all the images in one folder then in imageready go to import-folder as frames (or something like that) it will import all the images into an animated gif, you can change the time dlay by clicking on the time at the bottom of each frame. Then to save go to save optimised. Voila.

I run a script which convers the JPG into

200 by 100 size...

Then to 256 colours..

I then use Print Shop Pro's animator to convert into
a animated gif...
