Chums,

I?m considering a day out this week if the weather improves a little. One possibility is the area west of Salisbury taking in Golden Hill, Shaftesbury + Old Waldour Castle + Stonehenge.

Now, Golden Hill ?. I see from Google Maps that is runs approx north-south but does anyone know if it slops down from north to south or from south to north. This would decide whether I arrived at the end or the beginning of the day.

Oh and ??. any other suggestions to wile away a few togging hours in that general area would be most gratefully received.

Oh I just saw this Dave... what a gorgeous town...its sooooo cute.... looks like something out of a fairytale book...

Mind you I would be hesitant to try and walk down that hill... cause it looks kinda slippery with all that moss on the road....:)

just noticed this post dave. My grandad lived on Leyton Lane in a house right at the bottom of Gold Hill so spent many years running up and down it on holidays - it was easier back then now its an effort to get up and down it...

Its not like it was 30 odd years ago, it has to many cars going through it now but it is very picturesq..
