Hi All
The problem that I have is my DVD wrap around Cover
I use nearly the same design for all my B/G's DVD cover, change the photo's to two for their wedding, & also change the font & colour of the font to match the colour theme of the wedding
I have been doing this for the past three years & feel it needs updating, but I just can not come up with a more modern idea, still using images or image from the wedding
Any ideas would be gratefully accepted
Below is a copy of an new one ( but it needs a fresh idea )

OK here we go. Sorry for delay some posts have passed me by.
I gather from the image layout that you give your B&Gs a DVD box with the DVD in it. How do you give them price lists, order forms etc.
I was going to go down this route but couldn't find a way of getting everything together for them.
I use a Display book from Viking Stationery. See the link below. This gives the best picture of how it looks, its not the exact product. The ones I use are A4 and have 12 clear plastic pockets in them.

They work out around £5 each. They have a window on the front that will take a 10 by 8 print of their wedding. Then inside they have a space for your DVD then a pouch for some business cards. The floppy disc holder I modify. I cut the flap section off the top so the top is straight across. It will then hold one of Spicer Hallfields Thank you cards. The thank you cards can take a small picture from their wedding. I sell these at 1.50 each. This price means I make £1 per card. Doesn't sound much but I bet I sold 1500 of them last year. 100 cards will take me around 30 Min's to do. Ink-jet print 9 copies of the image per sheet - hey presto. Its a great sales tool as well, people keep the cards. I get quite a few inquiries from people who have kept a card and are now getting married. I am going to get a very discreet sticker made that I can put on the back of the cards for this year.
The first plastic pocket in the display book has a reprint & parent album price list in. The next two pages have order forms. The rest of the pages are used to put the contact prints in. The DVDs are great but the B&G can never compare pictures with the DVD. If they like picture 10 and 90 they can never see them together - so I do some thumbnails for them. The final page has the album brochure for them to choose the album colour etc. Also included are two extra copies of the DVD for parents. This way my reprints come back quicker. It doesn't stop parents from ordering albums.
They work brilliantly. The B&G get to keep everything including the DVDs.
I am always worried that Viking are going to discontinue this line and I will then be really struggling to replace what I think is a perfect solution to presenting everything to the B&G.
And to finish it off the DVDs are full face printable so a nice picture of the B&G goes on the front of each disc.
When finished its a quality way to show your pictures.
I hope this is the kind of fresh idea you were looking for Alan.
Finished.

Hi Martin
We must be brothers :hissyfit: :hissyfit:
Because the packages we provide & the after service are very close.
1: All the photo's on my site for B/G family & friends to view
2 :one Dvd made with pro show gold, backed with music with all the shots & presented in a DVD box , for which I print up a wrap around cover ( as above )
3 : Proof book , this is as follows
One A-4 Book
Front page printed on inkjet = photo of B/G , With details over printed
Details page = explaining choice of albums & saying that all prices can only be held for six months, ie reorder & album upgrade
All the images printed on inkjet as thumbnails
After the proofs, a couple of pages showing all the prices for albums, family packages & reorders, withat the back a reorder sheet
All of this is then taking around to prontaprint & made into a spiral book c/w clear plastic front & black card back
I also give the B/G as many thank you cards as they require, these I have printed up with all my details on them, & have the prints prited at Keynsham, 8 on a 10x8 sheet @ 40p per sheet.
The total cost of all of this is around £3.00
From all of the above B/G can then choose which & how many images they want to present in an album of their choice.
I find it really interesting that you give three copies of the DVD ( is it a show or just the images) & also charge for the thank you cards.
But the reason for this thread is that I think the cover that I give the DVD back in might need updating, also did you read my comment on the cost of the storybook that you are offering, for my storybook package of £1500.00 the cost comes out at under £170.00

Yes I know there are cheaper storybooks.
Graphi are doing a 50% discount all year if you use them. But it means dealing abroad all the time. I want to be in more control.
The cost sounds high because that includes them designing the whole album.
I have now rethought this and chose to design the album pages myself. This reduces the price from. £538 + VAT to £363 + VAT.
Sounds much more like it.
The albums are stunning.

Whose package are you going to use to design the books, which will also mean that your books will be different then anybody's because your own idea's will come into play
I use Yervants page designs & then customise them so that my books are mine not just a copy ( we photographers don't copy do we ), or are you going to design youown pages in PS

Alan, where do you get the Yervant page designs from.
I am re-thinking my digi-book offerings and would like to garner some further inspiration.
Thanks

Hi Stemmy
Are Viking still offering the A4 display book?, I could only find the A3, if not what are you using now?
