I need quick exact help on creating an action, but using it in automate, batch and having the action: open, rotate 90 CCW, sharpen, auto color, crop, save and close...and I can't seem to get it all working together smoothly....anyone out there can help? What am I doing wrong? In order to create the action...don't I have to open a picture first? Then do I go to the batch and do them w/the new action?
Thank you! Rhonda Desperate Schaefer....I have like 4 events needing this time saving tool!!!!!!

Hi Rhonda,
It should be quite simple really, but I'm afraid I don't have PShop on this 'pooter so my descriptions may be a bit 'woolly.
Ope an image you want to carry out the action on (just one image for now).
In the 'Actions' window, along the bottom there's an icon that looks like a peeling post-it note - should show as 'create new action'. - Click It Once.
You will now see an options dialogue where you can name the action, save it in a set and assign an F key if you like. - Click OK
The action will now be recording everything you do on the image, so go through the work, as you want it, on the image you have open.
When finished close the image and save it as you wish, then go to the bottom of the Actions window again and click the Stop Recording icon - I think it's the plain square.
Your action is now saved in the actions window and should show up when you try and run a batch process from Photoshop or from Bridge.
There is also a way of creating a 'Droplet' from the action which saves even more time, but someone with more knowledge than me would have to help you with that one! (Someone will probably correct me from these instructions anyway, but as I say, I am working from memory heer!)
Hope it helps

First make a copy of one of the files to use as a test. Open the test file, from the actions palette click on the small triangle at the top right of the palette, click on 'new set' call it what you like, then click on the 'new page icon' at the bottom of the palette. The red 'record' button will be on and you carry out the tasks you want. Rotate, colour correct etc. then click on the square symbol for 'stop'.
Rmember before you start to have all your files to be processed in one folder and to make another folder to receive them (the destination folder).
To batch process, you do not need any file open but you do need the3 action selected in the actions palette (make sure the start point of the ction is highlighted - not where you finished setting up). Then go to File, Batch process, choose the source folder, choose the destination folder, click OK then sit back and watch it go.
