Why has my avatar shrunk where some others haven't?

A number of us have been commenting on the same thing.
Barry was looking into it for us and says Stemmy will probably be able to sort it out when he gets back on line but at at the moment he is in the throws of moving house and computer not yet up and running.
Hope this helps.
Cheers,
jim.

Hi,

yes you can - now!!

My profile was marked "do not use an Avatar" and so deleted the previous version. No idea how that happened as I have not been near my profile for some time. Maybe someone is trying to tell me something!

This one is like most of the others is now much smaller. Ah well you cannot have everything.

seriously ive spoke to martin and hes going to have a look when he gets online again. I cannot for life of me see what is up, nothing has been changed and everything "seems " in order, although obviously not.

update time.

It appears that within the premium usergroup the avatar field has been changed for some reason, can i ask if those with shrunken avatars have tried to change them recently and the problem started or did it just shrink of its own accord.

I dont have access to that section of the forum to alter the avatar size, after spending 5 days scouring through the admin stuff, but ive emailed Martin again, asking next time hes on if he could make the changes cos i cant.

Hopefully that will solve the problem and apologies for this err hiccup.

Hi Barry,

Mine reset to show "no Avatar" and when I changed it late last night the image has shrunk.

BarryM
16th August 2007, 12:58 PM
Thanks Jim and George, well going by this it seems that it must be within the setup that martin created when he started the premium members thing, but only noticable when any premium member is changing their avatar.

Il send that info to Martin.

Katelyn from what im led to beleive, is if you havent subscribed for the added extra then you will not have an avatar option or private messaging capability. If your name is in blue and you do not have a premium badge next to your name then im assuming you dont. Hope that helps.

Still waiting on my new debit card to come through..I WANT MY PMs BACK!!!! :hissyfit: Don't ya just love Lloyds TSB?

BarryM
16th August 2007, 01:05 PM
lol TSB thats a swear word to me, i went radio rentals at the local manager for his pure arrogant, ignorant approach to my business runnings for a year i had my business account with them, i swear he was like that guy of the abbey adverts, you know, the twat one that says " so what". Went to RBS and was treated like royalty, swapped accounts over, took a week or so to do, no bank charges nothing from them, a quick phone call away if any greiff.

So TSB can get on their big black horse and gallop of into the sunset :Dm

And when he looks inside the bag he just pinched, he'll find all these tiny Premium Members screaming at him.

I decided to avoid the high street banks when I set up my business this year, due to the charges levied after trading for 12 or 18 months.:hand:

I paid £130 to join the FSB (Federation of Small Businesses) who have a fantastic deal with the co-op bank, which gives FSB members free banking for life, and they also give discounts on insurance and mortgages etc.

The have get togethers, where you can network with other small businesses and free legal advice.... they are the best at keeping the tax man away from your door...

Its the best £130 i've spent:banana:

***** Could All Those Who Had Issues With Avatars Try And Upload Them Again, All Should Be Sorted *****

Stemmy
17th August 2007, 04:03 PM
Dont worry everybody Ive sorted it now.

It was a 30 second job - very very simple !!!

I didnt give the proper authorisation to barry who is my No2 in charge. And I will add, doing a tremendous job in my absence, and will add, did a fantastic second shoot with me, so good that the wedding couple have asked Barry to come down and do their sisters, brothers and grandkids weddings when it comes round. Hows that for talent.

Normal service will be resumed very soon. Please hang in there everybody !!

Yup I do.. I think an avatar can help to give a poster some personaility... it often say's something about them.. whether it be a pic of themselves or something else they like... some avatars show the poster has a sense of humour... others use it as a showcase for their favourite pic... or to show a hobby they like...personally I like em all... oh except for when a man uses a pic of a girl etc.. that always confuses me as I start think that poster is female.. and it makes it easy to recognise posters at a glance too...

So what are you waiting for mister.. get an avatar will ya.. :)

Well yes I am but we like all animals equally.

My own personal favourite is the ostrich. I remember my first ….. it was a quiet evening during a walk along a secluded beach on the East African coastline. I was unattached at the time and seeking love and to be honest on that particular evening I’d probably had just a bit too much to drink. It was a beautiful evening, an evening I was to remember for the rest of my life. The sun was just dipping behind the turquoise sea and the palms were swaying gently in the breeze. The scent of Jasmine was in the air ….. a heady mixture, I’m sure you will agree.

Just after loosing sight of the beach-side bar where I had been passing away an idle hour, sipping the local hooch and listening to the drums, I suddenly saw what at first I thought to be a figure standing about 50 yards ahead. As I approached I saw it was in fact a beautiful female ostrich, in full plumage, standing on the flat sand at the surf’s edge with her back to me and adopting the classic pose of having her head stuck in the sand.

She was a magnificent sight and, fortunately, did not seem to be aware of my presence. I approached with stealth, hardly able to contain myself, dizzy on the prospect of the coming event (it had been a while). jumped up on her hind quarters, flung my arms around her formidable torso, grasped both upper wings and …. well ….. I’ll leave the rest to your imagination.

How was it for me? …….. ?

Well it was fantastic for about the first 200 yards, then I kinda got out of step

We still send cards
