Any one in or near the midlands interested in a day on Cannock Chase with me? End of September may be. Take in 'my' old foundry, an ancient oak woodland that inspired Tolkin, Great War training camp artifacts, oh and a pub lunch of course.
Or we could do the latter at my pub without a bar and have a wander along the cut and around some flooded lime pit workings.
No cost except getting there and your lunch!

Ooooh I don't eat much....

but dammit 'getting there' is a little out of my price range at the moment.. *pouts*

Sounds like it would be a good day out Tony... wish I could be there...:)

It sounds like a grand photo adventure. Just called Mrs H to get permission - no problems:-)

Look forward to showing you my stamping ground Chris.
I forgot to say I think a weekend would suit those who work for living so say 22nd or 23rd; if any wedding togs want to do this I could also do a weekday one ***sarcasm3**:blum2::blum2:

Tony, 23rd would be good for me - especially as the traffic will be easier (should take me a little over 2 hours). I think we'll have to make a call at the time with regard to the weather - otherwise I'm good to go.

Cheers

Chris

Sorry for the delay in replying Chris, there are so many posts that sometimes they get lost.
23rd's fine by me, just hope we get some reasonable weather.
If there no more takers I'd suggest you come to my home and I'll chauffeur you around, make a change after a 2hr drive.

Tony - Sounds like a good plan - a pub lunch with photography - I've driven round Cannock Chase & visted the commonwealth & german cemetaries, but never with someone who actually knows the place, so would be interested in tagging along.
Cheers
