Would it be at all possible for a tab to be added to a post with pics where the equipment used could be added should the poster wish?
That was the newbies here (by that I mean me!) can take a look easily at what was used for a particular shot.
Either that or a profile addition of equipment we own?

no just ask in the thread what cam or gear is used, as to listing gear thats a no too the gear is just a tool for the person with the eye to take photos to me gear listing is just bragging and i have always loved the way the forum doesnt follow other forums with i have the biggest d*** list :)

Oh god please no... I hate it on other forums when everyone lists their gear... it makes them look like equipment wankers...
besides I firmly believe that its the skill of the tog not the gear that makes a good shot.. okay I'm not saying that good gear doesnt help... but in the wrong hands its no help at all..
I do sometimes ask if I am curious though.. so feel free to ask the members if you are interested in what gear they used for a certain shot... :)

Thank god for that, as I bet I'm one the bottom of the photographic equipment scale, compared to many on here:rain:

yeah exact same here, and through experience, get going, see the gear lists, suddenly your equipment chasing, and not enjoying the photography. I dont think its fair to those new to photography joining the forum to be a bit put off cos everyone is listing 5d with L series lenses etc etc.

The main reason was to stop me having to ask every 5 mins. It's not a problem to carry on though. I don't want a full list of everything you own just that sometimes, when I see a nicely done shot, the lens or filter used may help.
No probs though, I'll ask if unsure.

ROFLMFAO!!!!!!!!!! :laugh1: :laugh1: :laugh1: :laugh1: :laugh1:
Just kidding buddy. I started out on here a year ago using a sharp viewcam camcorder on still mode, then got a s5600 and have since moved on to a DSLR. Not once did anyone take the piss because of my equiptment or lack there off...so no need to fear any of that sort of rubbish mate. I wouldn't be half as good (not that I'm good!!!) as I am now, if I hadn't started with the fuji...seriously!!

I'm basically testing the waters, as I have yet to find my skill level. Should I feel that I can justify the spending of my (I mean my Mrs') money, I'll upgrade. Until then it's a case of seeing what I can get with the S5600, and if I could get better with a better setup. To me it was no good spending £500-700 on a DSLR, if my pics came out crap:grin: I also want to get a bit of experience behind me, as I am getting stuff published now in books n stuff.
Plus my Mrs would have given me a right ear bending for spending the cash :black_eye:grin:
