My main goal the now is trying to work on editing portraits...they're definitely far less forgiving than landscapes when it comes to editing!! :(

So I'd be interested to see what you lot can do with the original image here. Been playing with it for a cople of weeks but just cannae seem to get it.

As you can see the straight outta camera image is fairly underexposed so if you want I can email the original RAW file.

Edited to say: I love the look of very pale skin tones, hence why my edits are trying to simulate that, but I'm open to suggestions!

*From memory*

Yup using PSP....

Curves to light the image. (Gentle curve)

Digitial Noise Removal on the skin only.

Sharpen x 1

Auto Sat (high colour)

Hue control to pull down the colour to a nice level...

Then using the SOFTEN brush at about 10 to 20 pixels,
went round the face (skin only) and faded the creases,
bumps and pixel squares out....

Thanks very much for that mate! Didn't try it in PSP, but I will be now!! Did you do anything in particular to the shadowy/makeupy bit on her right cheek? That area's given me some proper trouble.

Nice one guys, some great edits here. Will go back for another play as it does seem to have some potential! :)

Charley, bummer about your lecturer mate. We lost ours after about a month of the courser too. These things were sent to try us huh? Will PM you in a wee while mate.
