A National Trust Site situated on the North Cornish Coast between Padstow and Newquay. From Newquay head north on the B3276, Carnewas is situated about 6 miles south of Padstow.
There are some fantastic views across Bedruthan bay and the footpath along the cliff is part of the South West Coastal path.
The beach is also accessible since the NT rebuilt the staircase a few years ago, but is quite a steep climb. Due to tidal currents the beach is regarded as unsafe for bathing at anytime, but at low tide is great for exploring the rock pools and caves etc, just remember to be wary of the incoming tide.
Oh yes and the national trust cafe in the car park serves fantastic home made cream teas and ice cream
