Ok,

I am a little confused?

How do some of you resize in photoshop to around 194kb and still put a detailed, good size photo on here.

When I try to resize to 194kb, I end up with a tiny photo.

I am no expert on photoshop as you may be able to tell, but I thought that by now I would be able to resize?

I want to be able to show a good shot on the forum, but cut the size down to the required amount.

Please help a plank! You may have to tell me in infant terms lol.

Most images designed to be viewed on a monitor are created at 72 dpi, so if you create an image at this resolution, the dimensions you require on the screen your file size should be reasonably small.

Resize your image to 700 pixels or less on its longest length.

72 DPI Resolution

Then save the image as a Jpeg with a file size of around 100 to 150k

Any probs Im in chat now

Simply go Image > Image Size

Make sure 'Constrain Proportions' is checked

Then reduce the DPI to 72

THEN change the longest size pixel value to 700

Click OK then go to 'Save As...' and give the reduced file a new name and/or location and upload it.

when you do this resize, you might look like you have a tiny photo, try goiing to "view" then print size, that shows your image as it will show on the net.

Or VIEW - ACTUAL PIXELS will show you how it will look on the screen.

And view your re-sized image at 100% to see if any sharpening is needed.
