Anyone used the High Dynamic Range blend tool in CS2?
I'm trying but am finding the blended RAW files off the D200 are enormous, well over 100mb.
Any comments or advice would be welcomed.

In the end, after reading the article on barry's link, I tried the trial version of Photomatix Pro 2.2.1 The last time I tried this I was not too impressed but it was v1.
The old foundry proved ideal for this. I blended these three shots in the trial version.
I appologise that the blended image is a bit, well a lot, wonky as the three shots to be blended were hand held. I was passing the foundry and the light was OK so it was spur of the moment job but I hope you can see the effect.
Full version about to be ordered.
I'll do the job properly next time and use my three legged friend.

I can see from what you have posted this could give stunning results. Something I must have a play with.

Hi Martin, you certainly can get some stunners. I can't wait for Tuesday when I may be able to fine the time to use this inside Lichfield Cathedral.
I've purchased the full Photomatix Pro @ $99, the results gained by blending in PS CS2 and then tone mapping in PM were just not right. Do the whole job in the programme designed for the job. The churchyard was blended from 7 images at +- 2/3EV 1 2/3EV and 2EV; the old foundry was 5 images at 1EV steps.
Note the cloud detail in the sunset in the churchyard shot.
A 12x9 print off the foundry is absolutely stunning.
you may read that you can do this by adjusting a single RAW file, yes it can give an improved image but it ain't the same.
Full details here, the FAQ are well worth a read.
