Please use this area for posting you video Tutorials, at the moment if you could put a link to the video tutorials rather than upload direct to forum.

For any existing video tutorials i shall move across to here with a redirection for a month in the existing place its stored.

Please be specific with the titles so members know exactly what the tutorial is about. Thank you

Hi Barry

can I say thank you very much for making a dedicated section for the video tutorials. There are already two of us plugging away at Camtasia and it would be magic if the other guys could maybe take us though how they created one of their images post camera,by making a tutorial video so that we could all learn something and improve our own PP techniques.

As for clearly stating what each tutorial is about I already do this by inserting a title screen before the video is shown.I hope to do many more myself and post them and I look forward to many from the guys.Unlike some forums which charge a premium for videos,I'd like to think that this could blossom into a fab resource for all the members so that each of us could push our photographic and post processing skills to a new level.

Best regards

Kenny

No problem. I was sure it was a good idea when I thought of it.

Seriously though I think this could be a great place. Nothing like seeing somebody do things in Photoshop for it to sink in.

Each video should be in its own thread then people can comment and they stay separate from each other. I have camtasia and might just have a dabble myself.

Hi Martin

I agree wholeheartedly. As I said before when I first started posting mine, they were made as a favour for a friend of mine when she said he couldn't get along with those written ones you see on some forums.I simply took a few of them and put my own spin on things and did the videos for her to watch at her convenience.

One thing that might be advatageous with doing Camtasia tutorials is to actually have an audio track with the tute's cos sometimes the videos aren't one hundred percent crystal clear on the screen and if you actually hear the words of the person making the tute you can follow it better.

another tip is to open yourself a separate account with photobucket to upload your videos too.Photobucket allows you to upload an individual video of no more than five minutes and or 500mb in size.I found a couple if my tutorials were bigger than that so I split them into two parts. If you create the video as an avi file it uploads quicker into photobucket than any other format and as they host the images you dont have to worry about bandwidth. The videos don't need to be uploaded to our site, you just click on the bottom line of the text under the video and paste that into your post as a link. This makes the video clickable and can be watched.

Another tip with camtasia is in the editing stage. Its got a tendency to be a bit zoom crazy-it will zoom at the slightest chance and sometimes not in the place you want it to.What I do is go to the zoom edit line(shown by green diamonds) and check to see if the zoom is okay.if your happy with it then all well and good but if it goes off on a zooming frenzy you can edit the zooms and delete them leaving a straight video. The best tip of all though so that folk know what your video is about is to make a plain black title screen and name the clip so its obvious what the tute is about.

hope this bit of info helps

Best regards

Kenny
