Have you ever been on location and gotten frustrated trying to see the image in the LCD on the backof the camera? Here's an option for a bigger LCD.

Buy yourself a portable DVD player with a 7 inch screen and an AV input. Connect the AV output of the camera to the player and hey presto, a 7 inch monitor for your images to be checked on.

It should help previewing images and give you a better chance to show the client.

This is a cracking idea Craig, I will certainly try this one.

That's a cool idea - but you might need to be a little careful with it.

A DVD player runs at TV res - you're replacing a small high res screen with a larger low res screen. The D3 screen for example has around twice as many pixels as a PAL TV.

Also if you're shooting raw then the camera only generally displays the embedded thumbnail. Blow this up to a larger screen and it can look nasty and jaggy.

But for a quick preview - cool idea ;)

wow what an excellent idea, now i have a use for last years present the wife got me, dvd player that was too small for wedding fayres etc. I might just use that in the studio to show customers rather than the back of cam.
