allow me to give a chrome effect to hair? Just playing about on the computer last night and I had the urge to change my daughter (well her pic anyway) into a futuristic figure. I spent hours trying to get her hair to look like liquid chrome but still look like hair if you see what I mean, but it is defeating me. I tried a few liquid chrome tuts but couldn't seem to get the effect I'm after.
I hope a question about photomanipulation is ok! :)

Thanks :)
I suddenly realised haf way through the post that I hadn't seen any special effects photomanipulations on here (yet).
My husband does 3D animation, but he hates photoshop so he's no help, and the Animation Master techniques are so much different. (Actually he explains it in great detail, I nod sagely and say oooh in all the right places and it goes straight over my head! :dizzy: )

Thats the effect I was getting too - apart from the chrome boobs! :) Not quite what I am trying to do - I'll have to keep playing and see if I can get what i am after. :)

I think there is a filter in photoshop called "Plastic wrap" or something.
Might be worth a go.

In Photoshop, have you tried, Filter/Sketch/Chrome ? That would seem to be a good place to start. Think it depends on the colour of the hair, on the effectiveness. See image below. The effect is variable to some degree and can be further enhanced using Levels.
