Has anyone used either of these? The DL was recommended to me.

I've been looking at prices online and came across the *ist DL2 but as far as I can tell, it's exactly the same as the DL but more expensive. I've found a good deal on a DL2 with £60 off on a 50-200mm lens.

If anyone knows the difference between the DL and DL2, or wants to recommend some alternative D-SLRs for the same sort of price (up to around £600), then that would be a great help.

Cheers. :)

I own and use two Olympus E20P cameras and love them. But I have recently bought a Nikon D50 to use as a spare and it is superb! spot on detail and fast for the price. It only cost me £398 with an 18-55mm lens...........SUPERB!

Jessops in store price-------------£398 for a NIKON D50 AND LENS

I've actually ordered a Nikon D50 with 18-55mm and 70-300mm lenses at £509.99 from Jessops online. But then I saw the Canon EOS 350D and 18-55mm lens for £486.53. I looked up some reviews of both cameras and the Canon seemed to produce much better images so I'm thinking of cancelling the order for the Nikon and gettting the Canon. But then I won't get the 70-300mm lens. Reviews seem to favour the Canon too and say it's Nikon equivalent is the D70s.

There's too much choice and I'm so confused! :( It's going to be either the D50 or the 350D now (I don't think the Pentax is that good comparatively now) but I'm really stuck.

Thanks for the recommendation. Makes me feel more like I've chose a decent camera.

I shoot with the Pentax *ist DL and I love it.

That's actually a great picture, really good detail.

I'm torn between these three models again. It's so hard to choose.
