Hiya guys !

I am aware of the fact that there is an entire section titled "Computer Clinic", and that anything Mac related in principal could be posted in there. However as you guys will be well aware of, the two are worlds apart in reality. Given that Mac (statistically) is the choice of imaging proffesionals, and that this site is all about imaging, I think it deserves a place of it's own ?

Although I'm still surrounded by PC's, and I used them for around 12 years, I won't go near one now unless I really have no other choice.

A good idea in principal, but i think there is possibly only one or two members here using macs, so not sure its viable to have its own thread.

What il do is browse the statistics for the board, if u can tell me the operating system the mac uses, il see what percentage of members use a mac, then we could take it from there.

I totally appreciate what you say, I had probably wrongly assumed there would be a high percentage of Mac users in here!

I run Leopard Mac OSX V 10.5.2, I think most people using Mac for graphics based applications will be running very similar versions (certainly no different to matter).

Barry, I have only just discovered through a thread on here that your studio is in Kirkcaldy. I remember somehow gathering that you were here in Fife, but not quite how close by! I am currently in the process of finalising an agreement with Fife Heritage Trust, to open a gallery in West Wemys (don't worry no intention of it being a studio.......not my bag as you probably realise). There are some fairly major developments afoot for West Wemyss, which should see the wealthy Edinburgh folk buying harbour-side residences here. Having looked at the development proposals in detail, I think it should see occupation of the first houses within a couple of years, so now is a good time to establish something here.

I promise at some stage to come and surprise you one day at your studio, it would be nice to put a real persons face to the anonymity of cyber-chat !!
