View Full Version : Little help with panoramas...

Got some shots of a sunset this evening (well...yesterday evening now) and I was going to merge 3 particular shots into one. I've just bought a new camera and in the bundled software it has a panorama maker so I stuck 3 shots in there and let it do its job. When it finished the photos lined up almost perfectly but had different brightness levels.
I was wondering if anyone here could help me sort this out by telling me how to match the brightness. Is the only way to go round the bad bits and select from a path or lasso, then just fiddle with the brightness settings?
Also, should I use the clone tool to get rid of the 3 lampposts on the left?
What's the best way to avoid this in the future or is it just something that happens?
:thanks:

ok use the tools you're happy with and know the best...
Practice!!! A lot!!!
I use the Clone tool in Paint Shop Pro to get rid of the
lamposts.. Easy enough...
Size 5 --- Opacity 50%....
For the lines of the join I again used the clone tool...
Size 100 --- Opacity 20%....
Gentle blending in the edges of all images together..
A little contrast and then a Digital Noise Removal at 50%
finished the pic..
What you think?

Thanks a lot. That's exactly what I wanted.
I'll try to get hold of a decent programme (I use one called GIMP) to do it all and keep practising.
Thanks again. :icon_nice

bundled software is usually c**p. For panoramas
try PanoramaFactory details here
http://www.panoramafactory.com/
cost is $70
or try
Autostitch which is free at the moment.

Hi Jane,
Have you used Autostitch yet? If so may we see an example?
