dont wory Lee, your banned :)
Im on one of my little missions as Im seeing inconsistencies with comments again..my little bug bare as you may know :)
e.g Mr or Mrs X posts a thread.
Mr or Mrs Y posts a comment to the positive.
Next day another thread appears by Mr or Mrs T ( crazy fools)
and Mr or Mrs Y posts a negative comment.
YET teh 2nd Thread is a much better image.
Im seeing a pattern of discrimination and Im monitoring it hence the consistence-ometer
confused enough now?

Remember a few things in your experiment. People typically comment according to the commenter's perception of the poster's ability - so I always get bad comments, because people think I'm good and think I should be doing better :-) Also your perception of what is better, might not be shared by someone else - so your approach might be more scientific in nature. There are - I'm sure - lots of other types of bias floating around that influence people's perceptions and comments, but I wouldn't go as far as calling it discrimination :-)

yes when doing this kind of sampling there is many factors that have to be included, are your random, match, cluster, stratified, independent, spatial or precision sampling.
I feel that you havent put a lot of thought into this study your embarking on, ideally you need to define the population of concern, which i think you have done, you then need to create your sampling frame and set frames for the event after which you need to specify the sampling method you wll be using to make this survey a fair and just one. Also you want to predetermine your sample size group and then and only then implement your sampling plan, then you can collect your data and double check the sampling process was suitable for the study your undertook.
After you have acheived all this then you need to work out all errors that could be brought up with 1. the sampling method 2. the population you were dealing with 3. interpreting the date 4. any other potential errors that may arise during the statistical sampling process.
Once you have acheived all this you are then giving a set of results that are still bias but very accurate.

The big question is WHO decides the 2nd thread has a much better image? It just can't be done, photography is so so subjective. For instance Ansel Adams is not one of my favourite togs yet there are hundreds if not thousands who really rate his technique over content approach. So if I had to rate, say a Paul Hill landscape over an Adams; Hill, would in all probability, be my No1 but that would , again in all probability, not be the general opinion. So both comments from Mr/Mrs Y are valid, it just means they like one image more than the other and their opinion does not match yours. Statistical analysis only works reasonably well with objective subjects and is then still very suspect.

doesnt it just fry your head?
But it can never be proven correctly.#
Patterns are there for sure but this only shows who favours who and who favours a type of image.
This of course is different for every user on here.

I'm not really sure about any of this, but I got one quick question....
Am I guilty of anything?
