Hi,

I am trying to understand the RAW process. I have taken several pix in RAW format with my new toy. When I open them in Elements 3.0, I get a "Photoshop RAW Option" box. It has 3 sections, Dimension, Channels and header. (Of which I don't understand.) They have to be taken from the Windows Explorer.

If I click ok, the pix opens in PS Editor as a black picture. It doesn't open in the RAW Editor. I have d/l the plugin for my camera.

I just looked at an online tutorial, and it showed the RAW Editor.

Oh, one other thing. When I try to get photos (RAW) from my chip reader, it only loads a JPG in the Organizer and says that it RAW is damaged with a broken picture icon.

Must be doing something wrong. Can someone get me on the right track? I will wash your car for 2 weeks. I don't do floors. Thanks,

Swen

Hi Swen,

have you tried opening your raw converter first then dragging your raw files over to it, see if it works that way.

Barry,

That is a good suggestion. But I didn't know there was a launch for the RAW Editor. I loaded the programs as plug ins. Can you tell me the name of the exe file. Will search for it. It could be that I don't have it and that would explain everything.

Thanks

You may not have the proper upgrade for your RAW format. My software came with the wrong version. Just go to Help,Photo shop Online, Windows Updates and find the appropriate Raw program and download. Install is easy. Just follow the instructions.
