how do you create a black and white or a sepia image?
personall i NEVER use the cameras built in ability to do this its always a PS thing with me. it just seems like a waste you could get a really nice colour picture but have take it in B&W so your stuck, where as if you got colour you can do anything.
for black and white
with RAW i just take the saturation down to -100 on the Camera raw then play with the levels
or use gradient map then levels if dealing with anything else.
for sepia i desaturate then use the photo filter i.e. image>adjustments>photo filter
just curious to know how other people do it, and if there is a better way

I also never use the camera to achieve b&w or sepia but I shoot raw so wouldn't any way.
If someone just wants to see a set of images in B&W then I generallly use lightroom highcontrast preset to batch convert.
For final images I would use PS channel mixer (to emulate the effect of different colour filters) and curves for contrast.

My 2 method of choices are a duo tone, or the hue/sat palette click the colorise box and set the hue to about 30-32. Wayne

Hi Olivia
it says at the top of the page that its ONLY avalable for PCs so it looks like it wont work on your Mac unless its an MAC/INTEL one.

It looked really good till I saw it was PC only. Shame, as it l would have loved to try it.
That seems to be something you have to get used to with a mac. :(x
