If you are using a newer version of photoshop its easy. click the button next to the section where you can dock your layers palette etc. Its on the top right (a little folder with a magnifying glass) this will open "File Browser" then find your images and go to Tools then Batch rename - follow the instructions and hey presto. Make sure you don't have any images selected in the file browser when you do Batch Rename or it will only rename that one image.

Hope this helps

Hi Renee,

In Photoshop 7, go to Window, on the command bar then down to File Browser. When that opens you?ll see the File Browser tab above with a drop-down window arrow next to it. Click on it and the drop-down window opens and you?ll see Batch Rename?

Hope this helps you.

An other excelent freebie with good batch processing including renamiing is Irfanview. This prg will recognise virtually any format and is quicker and more multi-functional in batch work than PS
