The "S" pose for women

I have tried to explain this pose on the forum before but this picture shows it perfectly.

Weight on the back foot - Shoulders at angle to camera - bent front leg.

Note the S shape in the body.

it is there, id describe it as a lazy s though really. Surely this wont suit everybody though? what if your model was larger? i think theyd be uncomfortable posing in that way??????

Totally agree with you Cooler. Different poses for different sizes.

This is the "S" shape i was referring to. I know its not an exact "S" shape but you get the idea.

Great illustration Stemmy and well worth bringing to the attention of would be social photographers.... its a fundamental principle which is fast disappearing !!!....... another interest or mine is art, sketching and a few watercolours, and to this end i did a life drawing course many years ago and when you have the opportunity to attempt to draw a naked person in this position THEN you can clearly see the "s" curve...... all people photographers should do some life drawing

Tried that one out...... trouble is she looked away from the camera just at the wrong time! Still, the curve looks lovely......
