Hi, I have a picture just one picture of my parents' children and grandchildren all together, but it is very over exposed in one corner. How do I correct this?

I will happily email the pic if you need to see what i mean.

Thanks

Alison

Hi Alison...perhaps if you post it on here it would give us a better idea...also, was it shot as a JPEG or in RAW?
Cheers
Mick.

I did try to upload it, but is too big a file apparenrly and as a complete blondie I have no idea how to change that!

It is a JPEG image if that helps.

Thanks again

The longest edge needs to be no more than 800 px

Depending on the software you have, look for a 'Resize for Web' or 'Image Size' option.

Utilise this option but MAKE SURE YOU 'SAVE AS....' so you don't resize the original and lose it.

A difficult picture... but here's a quick play... it needs more time spent on it plus there is tons of compression noise in the original... to stop it looking so bad I have resized the image smaller to give you a better idea on the screen... if you want the full size version, I can let you have it!

No worries... see who else has a go... the forum is full of some very good retouchers... the full size version is here, www.smcphotography.net/temp/UsLot.jpg but as I said, the compression noise looks worse now... its a sad thing that happens once you start trying to bring out colour/detail... maybe some else can do better!

I added a bit of contrast as it's pretty flat, haven't had time to really play about with it though. Waynehttp://farm4.static.flickr.com/3234/2693401326_210d8849e6_o.jpg

And here's my little effort.
The ear on the top boy was cloned from the bottom left one and dad's forehead was also cloned from there at about 40%.

Like everyone has said quite difficult this one but it looks as though all have had fun "playing with the image."

I suppose if you had another photo of your son you could do something like this.
