lights on a small budget!!

Being super poor as my new baby boy is costing me the earth, i really want some lights that will do for portraits . but if possible as cheep as can beee whats the best I can get for like 200 squids or has anyone got any old bits of kit laying around thats not being used anymore that they could relinquish for a fee :)

I think the important words in your question here are 'on a small budget'.

I'd love to be able to afford more, but I bought this kit fairly recently. It's done me ok so far, but I know others will say that the power isn't going to be up to much.

I'v got the same kit..they work great. f/8 or f/11 for small group shots at ISO
100 is very possible. I used mine in peoples homes when I did in home portrat shoots. I kept the setup simple with two whit two shoot through brollies.

It depends what you intend to use them for? I can get a decent shot with on camera flash and a good diffuser, or even natural light. Be creative, it's amazing what you can do on a budget. :)

You can trigger them via a lead, or use an infra-red trigger like I do - not too expensive!

I use a cheap (12 quid) radio triggr from ebay. works really well.

yep another vote for interfit , noyhing that special but does the job very well , easy to add too as well
