On Thursday news emerged about a new image file format from Microsoft, specifically for photos, called the Windows Media Photo format. Said to offer better quality at half the size when compared to the JPEG format, WMPs will be part of Windows Vista and may also be released as an add-on for WIndows XP.

Not another file format,:hissyfit: Jpegs work so why mess about with them. It'll probably not catch on.
1 : MAC users will not use it and MAC's are still the instrument of choice for a lot of graphic people.
2 : Jpegs are known and understood
3 : It's from the big bad Microsoft

Yes Im getting more and more wary of Microsoft products !!

Totally agree, ive yet to see the big famous "dng" file making a mark, as it was meant to.
