what does flattening an image actually do?

Think I answered this for you in an earlier post. Obviously I did not explain it very well. Will leave it up to someone else to come up with a more convincing story :D

It is in the section Photography Chat, under the thread named "even". Within that thread, it is items #8 and #9

I find the little "Search" tab in the blue line at the top of each page in the forum a great help when I lose things.
