Hi guys newb to your forum and photography really.
Ive got a basic point and shoot camera and would like to upgrade. Looking to spend £600 or less.

Which? recommends the Nikon D80 and Canon EOS 350D as best buys. I could get the Canon from flee bay fairly cheeply but the Nikon holds its price better so Id buy it new.
What one would you buy? Do cameras last well, is it worth buying a second hand camera? Anyother cameras I should consider in that price range?

Cheers

Nikon D200 can be got for just under £600 new if you shop around. The D80 is good though and if you wait a month or so you should be able to get it cheap as its replacement has just come out.

Second hand can definitely be a way to get a bargain. My suggestion would be the 400D rather than the 350D as it has better features and will be very little difference price wise.

Both are good camera but you shouldn't make a decision without handling them first. There's no point in have the best feature set in the world if you don't like the way it handles.
