Think, a camera with this spec would have cost you well over a grand a few years back. OK it's not perfect with noise at ISO 400+ but it has a Leica designed lens. For many this will be more than enough camera.

a few friends of mine have various Panasonic cameras and are very pleased with them. Image quality is excellent on the shots I have seen to date.

I find it really difficult getting used to the LCD viewfinders ...

Great camera indeed especially with 12x zoom

however what kills it for me is the TIFF only output

I would have loved RAW.

We are at least 2 years behind the States with using RAW.

Just have a look next time you visit any good book shop at the

Digital Photography dross. None using RAW files.
