Hi all,
I know you are all photographers, but if you're best friend/daughter/mother/sister was getting married and wanted you in a role other than photographer, what's the best piece of advice you could give her?
(I am thinking of adding an 'FAQs/Advice' page to my website and I'm interested in everyone's comments, not just the wedding pros!)
Thanks all
Matt

Enjoy it, it flies by, oh, and by the way, don't forget to get some stunning pics so that you'll remember the wonderful day in years to come... :)

make sure those bells dont go on for ages - nobody can hear anything and they get right on your nerves after 20 mins!!!

To be more specific, what I should have said was...
"Assuming that you haven't recommended anyone, what advice would you give to help them choose their photograher?"

definately the main thing is that they like the photographer and feel relaxed. We have a few MEN photographers in our area who are extremely bossy and dictate what goes on the day. I always tell them to relax have an apsolute ball and your photographs will be brilliant but if they cant relax cos of a pushy photographer they wont be able to do. Also make sure lots of time has been allowed so its not photographs photograph photographs everyone gets naffed off with it then.

I just go with the flow.... Plan nothing...
The Brides and Grooms I've worked with just
want to have a relaxing good time...
I wait and watch in the background, even helping
out when other things go wrong to get things done..
The main person I keep in touch with is the best man,
(if he's any good) as he's usually knows what's going
to happen and is keeping an eye on things...
I do everything at the Bride and Grooms pace,
and only suggest things..

Check their work, tell them what you want and watch their reaction, try for personal recommendations. Will they gel with your guests.
