il have a play with it basically id clone out the cable, select the wee girl and inverse selection and add a guassian blur to try and unclutter the background a little or take your eye of it.

Great shot

a very quick attempt as said above, and cropped slightly to lose some of the stuff at back. not anywhere perfect just showing you, if you want something done proper then post the original pic or a link to it, as there is a few artifacts in this image, due to resizing etc.

But should give you an idea, and im sure more people will try other stuff.

I think thats how you spell it!

I think it makes a shot more interesting sometimes if your focus is off centre- makes it less rigid. But each to his own way of doing things...

spelt perfectly i think peta lol.

Im not sure about that edit Kirsty, the wee girl is facing more to the left, so i would have had more empty space on the side she is facing , as you have a lot of "dead space" now on the right hand side.

I now see what you mean Barry, having looked at it again.

Here I took out the wire, cloned out the elbow, darkened the back area and cut it down to a portrait.

I agree with Kirsty - I like her over on the left side.

I am not keen on rules that say "the subject must be here or there" - to my mind the photograph should be INTERESTING - it should make you want to look at it. If that involves putting the subject somewhere "unusual" then so be it :)

Cheers

I prefer Barry's colour and crop. Nice work !!

Its good to see lots of different takes on one image though.
