What is the best way to do this?

Thanks in advance.

I use Picasa 3 ... free & very easy to use!

in cs3 pic the ruler tool its near the bottom hidden under another tool click and hold t reveal. then draw a line along summat that is supposed to be horizontal/vertical i.e a horizon line or a building then go to image menu and click rotate and select arbitrary then ok and its straight. you will need to crop it afterwards

Andy

sorry i had to edit because i sent you to the wrong menu then spelled arbitrary wrong....oops

There are lots of ways mate. I take it you're using ps?
Here's how I do it.

Open into ps and duplicate the background layer, drag a line down from the ruler at the top of the working area (if you don't have rulers showing you can find them in the view menu) and drop it on your horizon. Ensuring the duplicated layer is selected, hit ctrl+T. You should now see a solid line with little boxes around your image. Hover over one of the corner boxes till you see a little bent arrow then drag the image to rotate it until the horizon matches the line you dropped there. When you're happy just hit enter then crop the image to get rid of the overlap. When that's done, go back into the view menu and select clear guides to get rid of the blue line. When done, flatten the image and save.

I use PSE6 and to straighten I drop down the grid, Select the transform tool (Ctrl & T) and drag at one of the corners. When OK accept and then crop.

Or another way (in PSE6) is to use the grid, Ctrl & T still holding down T drag out and up etc to the desired adjustment and usually no need to crop.
