Ideas needed for old-fashioned styles!

I'm currently processing a bunch of photos from a steampunk LARP, which will also potentially be used for promotion... I have total free rein over the processing (the ppl are very happy I offered!) but I'm getting bored of just doing the vintage look on them... Can anyone suggest any fun and stylish effects for photos that might make them look a bit older, but not be the same old aged grain?

Actions (and preferably free) would be good! Here's a sample of the style of photo that I'm playing with...

Paintshop Pro has a nifty "time machine" which simulates early photo printing techniques. I ran the image through it and these are my fave's. You may not be able to use the same filters, but it might give you some ideas for older style looks without the normal sepia..

1. Daguerrotype 1839-1855

2. Cyanotype circa 1840 onwards.

3. Cross processed - modern

Hi Xarra, sorry for taking so long to reply, first of all i opened your image in lightroom 2,adjusted the exposure,blacks,clarity and vibrancy, then adjusted the amount in the post crop slider to the left until it suited the image, then opened in cs3, did a pro and tonal contrast in nik effect colour pro(plugin for cs3)used another plugin called virtual photographer and allied sepia,back to nik pro and added some film grain effects and viola:)glad you liked it, thanks:icon_nice
