Hi guys

I dont know if anyone would remember but about five months ago I posted a thread about a company that had emailed our college to ask for some of us students to submit a photo for a calender.Well its been that long since I submitted mine Ive even forgotten what photo that I submitted.It was one of my butterfly photos but cant remember which one.

Anyway,they have emailed me and said that my photo is one of twelve thats been selected and have asked me to write my own byline to promote myself.It means that where ever the calender is I will have my photo seen and my details(well when my month comes round LOL)

I know its not that much but to have something published made me smile and I am dead chuffed that its going to be seen anyway.They have also said I have won a prize.They dont say what it is but I have given my addy to them so they can send it to me. Im not bothered what it is,just to finally have something printed by someone else is enough.

Id love to repost the image but cant even remember which butterfly it is now LOL

I shall have to look though my emails to find out which one it was I sent them.Hopefully it will still be on my old pc then I can repost it.

thank you very much for the kind words.You know what though,I cant for the life of me figure out what photo I sent to the calender people LOL. I am 99% sure its my flutterbye photo.This is one I took up near Alenwick in Northumberland last year where I had people driving past me looking at me like I was mental cos I was chasing up and down the layby we were parked on to get the damned thing and tog it LOL

Well if it was another set of lights I would be made up LOL cos I could then use them to do the old white backdrop thing.

Somehow I have the feeling that it might be a mars bar or summat.To be honest Im not bothered.Its summat to put on the cv....had a pikkie published and won a marsbar.Not bad at all really.

Incidentally,might have sorted the location to use my lights.My Niece rents a big house in Walkden with a large empty attic and since she is wanting me to do some wedding photos for her I thought......

anyway,I'm going to look at the attic tomorrow to have a see what it might need to make it into a studio.She also volunteered to be a model as did my other Niece Kayliegh who is to lip gloss what Max factor is to makeup.If it works out I might ask her how much to "rent the attic " when I need to.

I'm sure of course that since I'm her Uncle and also her Godfather and she loves me dearly that it wont cost much.....

Keep at it though mate! I'm no award winning tog..but I try to enter a comp or two each year, it helps me learn and keeps me keen to improve. I got my manfrotto 055 that way too! :Dm

The prize I believe in this comp is 250 quid.Its called the Sharrow art competition and they do it each year.People who enter have to pay £3 to enter their photo and the proceeds go to cancer charities.I believe they have raised hundreds and thousands of pounds for charity and its a very good cause.I might find the details and put the comp up on the forum if I still have it.I believe its divided into clubs,individuals and different genre of photos.

the comp ends in May so not long for me to find out if I managed anything with mine.
