Cute! I'm shooting an Akita bitch next week - a friends dog. I'm looking forward to it. I'm shooting her with my studio light gear as they want something high key (white background).

Some advice if you want to read. In the second shot there, I think the exposure would have been better if you had taken the reading from her face. With such a black dog you want to try and get the exposure spot on so it is worth locking the exposure (FE lock) with her face - but obviously look at the scene to see if you'll lose too much other stuff in highlights. Make sense?
