Can anybody give advice on Flash inside? Which setting they use on the flash gun. I use a Canon 580 Speedlite which is very good, and I normally set it at 45degrees so I do not blow the highlights on the dress.
Any help and most importantly settings people use ie Shutter priority/camera set to P etc
Many thanks

I also use the 580 ex with an EOS 20 d
Set Ettl on the flash gun.
80th of a second at f4 on the camera
point the flash straight up in the air (to bounce the light off the ceiling)
Use the little white built in card which will through a wee bit of the light forward giving nice catchlights in the eyes.
this will work for up to about 6 or 7 meters, and only if the ceiling is lightly coloured.
This technique goes through batteries like mad, but is almost always consistant.

I use the 550 flash with canon 1D, and I use the Gary Fong LightSphere II flash Diffusers, it really works good at receptions with very low light. It has saved me. I was having LOTS of trouble with flash until I started using this.
www.GFStudio.net and read what they have to say.... This Lightsphere is funny looking but I dont care as long as it gives me good pictures...
