all this talk of welding filters has made me wonder...

Do you guys leave the holder always on the lens?
Or is the holder quick and easy to fit to the adapter ring?

If you leave say the adapter ring on, can you fit the lens cap?

Hi Steve

at the moment I unscrew my P series holder when Im not using it.You cant fit a lens cap on if the mounting ring is screwed into the front of the lens,but.....there is a solution.you can leave the holder in place and by a blanking plate for it.It slips into the very first slot where the circular cokin polarizer slides into and thus blocks off the lens and protects it.This is available for all the flavours of cokkin filter holders from A to Z series.

Hope this helps

thanks for info Kenny. Useful to know. Currently I have my bags so I can carry all lenses with the hoods on (otherwise in the heat of the moment I forget and get flare)
I'm wondering if they wouldn't fit with a holder on.

....did I not mention that you can also get a clip on hood for all the cokin filter range?????

you cant put the normal lens hood on a cokin or lee system but you can buy hoods for them.you can clip one or more hoods together to form a bigger hood if you wish. The hoods for the P series are about seven quid and the blanking plate is(well was) about six quid. For the Z pro series its double that.

I leave my cokin holder on my wide angle lens and pop a blanking plate on.
I only really use it for landscapes so much easier to leave it on the lens, but i'm always careful to make sure its protected.
