My son, being the ingenious little thing he is, thought of making a "frame" for the plain old white sheet I bought for indoor picture takin'. He and his dad made it for me for my birthday. Pretty neat. Here are some pictures of it

Of course, with it all set up, there was an impromptu session lol. The girls were the only ones who wanted to participate. It was cloudy and my light (I only have natural!) was no good :(

How cute are your kids!!! Awww.

FYI, to use white bg togs normally have lighting on the background (in additional to lighting the subject), the idea being to overexpose the background giving a totally clean white look. If you can do that because you have no lights, I would be tempted to do something with other colour backgrounds so that it looks less like a sheet. Know what I mean. You could even dye an old sheet for a mottled effect.

Anyway - well done to the men in your life! Nice present!

Ok. I see what you mean. I was thinking of getting black as well. I'm just not sure how other colors would look? I guess its time to experiment!! :)

or........you could use the directional window light ( even when naff) and use the pressy as a huge and therefore soft reflector.....just choose a neutral..ie no clutter for the b/ground
