I need to source some genuine Epson inkjet cartridges for my R220 printer. Anyone know where I can get some cheap on the Internet?

Thanks Tony, they are about £3 each cheaper and the postage is less.
Well done mate!

Has anyone with an R200 or R220 considered that, if you are going to pay the full Epson price for the cartridges, you might as well buy a new printer and get a free set. 6 cartridges at approx £8.50 each = £51. You can buy the R220 at PC World for £49 and get a set of cartridges with it! Figure that one out.
Also, if you consider you pay about £8.50 for around 20ml, work that up to a price per litre (£425) and then tell me petrol is expensive.

I see where you are coming from but what you need to bear in mind is the fact that all cartridges supplied with new printer's are actually only partly filled....if you get through a lot of ink the best solution is a good CIS setup.

I'm not doubting you, I'm doubting the manufacturer. I don't recall getting any fewer prints from my first 'FREE' set of cartridges than from any other set I've had, either genuine Epson or one of the clones. And it still doesn't excuse £425 per litre of ink.
I was looking because my 3 year old R200 packed up the other day, with a flashing light sequence that said 'Unspecified Fault' - return to dealer. By the time I pack it up, and send it back, then pay whatever repair bill they attach to it, I'd be better off chucking it in a bin and buying another (now R220).

Yes I had this flashing light thin but it can be sorted.
Your printer counts the sheets that it prints and jumps into this flashing light mode after your number is up.
basically it is because when the cartridges charge an amount of ink is squirted into the sponge on the right of the printer.
It jumps into flashing mode because Epson presume that the sponge and reservoir below it need emptying and changing.
its tosh as far as I'm concerned, I reset my printer and had another 2 years with it before I gave it to a friend (who is still using it now).
Download this little utility - its really helpful - If you reset all the printer counters then restart your printer everything is hunky dory !!!

I whole heartedly agree with this. I have an HP printer, but I never by HP ink if I can help it. Third party ink is usually about half to two thirds of the price, and I've never had problems.

For anyone following this thread, the link Martin gave for that little Epson resetting utility was a lifesaver. It worked a treat, and my printer is now back in full swing. To save you all looking for the link, here it is again http://www.ssclg.com/epsone.shtml.
Thanks Martin, that tip was a real gem.

Canon i series do exactly the same thing only more so, when they think the overflow is full they give you a warning and then stop after a few more sheets! There are resets for them on the web but at £35 for a Canon service I don't feel it's worth the risk, and I could never get them to work:banghead::banghead:
I use Print-rite carts, no probs at all.
