I'd like to say hi to Dave Worthington and everybody I met on the wedding course at Worsley Old Hall.
6 days later, I did my first real wedding, and it went well. Bride and Groom are delighted with the results,
thanks again Dave.

Well done! they are a bit small for my tired old eyes to see properly but I am sure they look good. I know my weddings were so much better after I had done the course with Dave and Stemmy a while ago.

I was already feeling bad about it. My assistant had the job of getting a DaveWorthington-recommended quill pen, but this went by the board when her daughter went inot hospital with a suspected broken wrist.
The priest had a super red fountain pen, but wouldn't let us us it! Other than that he was a very decent chap though. In all fairness, he's probably lost a few in the past !
Thanks for pointer re bouquets
next time .....

next time .....the next time bit is exactly right.....every wedding will push you along the way a little more.....the service shot is spot on.....full window and arches...nicely timed moment...nothing earth shattering ,and its not meant to be...its just a picture of them getting married...BUT it has been done properly.......I bet your confidence is climbing now...and the standard of your work will follow ( not that these are poor, ,,,they are not !!!)

Well done!! I think you've done really great on your first wedding. And all these tips will fall in to place on your next, next and next wedding.. I don't think you ever stop learning! At each wedding you'll find you've learnt something new!
But what a great start!!!

Thanks Dave and Julie, I am definitely up for another one, which hopefully will happen as I am getting lots of recommendations after this one.
Having a voice like a foghorn proved to be a very great asset on this assignment! But the most sensible things I did were ...
[1] I took 2 of just about everything (Including a 5d as a back-up camera!)
[2] I took along a second tog to do creative shots while I took on the front-line stress of making sure the formal stuff happened properly. He did a great job and his pics will add value to the album
[3] I did the course :) Thank you particularly for the line "Oi! this is the one your dad's paying for!"

These are really good for your first wedding Ripples.
Technically all good, poses are OK without getting really picky and as has been said, you will improve on each wedding.
Good stuff

Cracking shots. It just goes to show DW passes on some really good advice.
Surely an advert for anyone wanting to go along to one of the next seminars.
My first wedding is only 4 weeks away - I hope mine turn out as good as those.
Been looking over my notes and going through the shots from the day - Oh and my new 50d should arrive tomorrow.
