Was it under warranty? In which case any manufacturer has to return the product to be suitable for use.
Nikon Professional are very good so I understand, but I've never had to use them and I've had a few Nikons in my time, F2 F3 FM2 FA2 D70 and now D200, none have ever given the slightest problem.
Leica give a world wide 3 year warranty. My D2 had trim that was lifting, the camera was replaced with a new one, not a refurb without any warranty as Canon did with my i9000 and i9100 printers when they played up. The new Leica has a full 3 year warranty too.
BTW nice pics from your replacement.

No, don't worry Wiley - was all my own fault! I bought a brush/blower from eBay (:banghead: ) which fell apart as I was brushing the mirror! Hairs everywhere - looked like someone had had a shave in my camera body!!!
But the gorgeous Olympus people fixed it for free. Yay for Olympus

Phew that's ok then....I didn't realise we had to clean the mirror...doesn't our mighty E500 do 5 million shakes per second or something when you turn them on to shake off any critters? lol

Can't speak for their cameras but their printers have some quirks that need them sending back every so often, usually to be replaced with a refurb'd unit without a warrenty. That's why I've got two i9100. Canon UK seem to have a lot of refurb'd cameras on offer on e-bay so someone must be sending them back.:clapping::clapping::clapping:
I've stuck with Canon printers for the past 4/5 years 'cos I strongly object to the Epson chipped cartridge however a 2400 with CIS calls for mono printing with one of the i9100's being kept for day to day printing.
Anyone know if an upgraded 2400 is in the pipeline?
