This is a mechanical tube knitting machine. Turn the crank and the knitter rotates as the needles go up and down doing their thing.

An iconic landmark in Burntisland, this is the shipyard crane, for the size of it, it only lifts 50 ton, compared to some of the smaller ones that can lift a whole oilrig onto a barge.
