Can't remember where but I suggested there were too many boards, some seeming to replicate each other. Here's my suggested list.

Who are you? let's know something about you where you live, your
interests and the gear you use.

Info links.
Photo Chat; including news items, members meets, diary dates
Post Processing, PS CS, PSP, GIMP no matter which you use exchange tips
and ideas here. Anything to do with software.
Computer clinc, the place to get or give help on those hardware probs we
all have.
Non-photo chat; talk about anything and everything, so long as it legal
and polite.

Post your images for comments and constructive crits. Sarcastic, rude or
point scoring comments are not required.
Social images; weddings, portraits, etc.
Pictorial; mono or colour, landscapes, 'fine art' manipulated what
ever.
Fauna and flora; all those pics ,wild or tame, of animals, birds, insects,
flowers and plants.
All the rest; anything you can't place above.

Forum comments; tell Stemmy what you think, what you'd like to see, any
constructive comments about the forum.

I don't think that there are too many boards...

I like the format the way it is now...if we cut the boards down then the newer posted threads will start to be missed more as they sink to the bottom faster - as each board will be carrying a larger load of postings...

Tend to agree with Beach Baby Bindii............ there are a lot of boards but its always gonna be busy here no matter how many there are........ its not the number its the time taken to get thro them..... and recently i have not been able to even read them all let alone reply.

the New Posts option is a life saver............. whilst some threads may not attract loadsa replies it may be all that particular member is interested in.

as it is thriving lets leave it as it is:icon_nice

I wil keep looking at sections that are too quiet.

I agree that a links section might be helpfull so all the info is in one place.

Agree if you hit the new posts but if you hit the board header you see all the unviewed posts on that board.

I think its more of a case of looking that the sections that are too busy....

The 'all the rest' board for instance is becoming harder and harder to keep up with all the amount of posts that go in there on a daily basis....

I agree, all the rest is just so busy I find it hard to keep up.

Would it be any easier broken up more? I think not. You've only to click on the board title and all the unseen posts are in bold type, you don't miss any that way.

I would agree way to many post.... I can not keep up on even the ones I might have posted or commented on. Seams everyone wants to post images to share and comment on... I would suggest if posting imges keep it to a one or 4 images tops like say when posting engagement and when you post you comment and maybe show yours... and so on and so on.... same as when posting a wedding image... I tryed to start a thread and asked everyone if they could show their best group shots, but the thread didnt keep going for long.... people can comment and then add on.. and on.... same with land scape... seams everyone post new thread all the time.... would like to see people add onto these threads...

Sorry Renee but I disagree with this....mainly because this makes the threads too long...and you will find also that once someone visits and posts in a thread they do not always go back to that thread to see the other replies...therefore a lot of the 'added' on shots are missed by most members...

The problem would be Renee if everybody posted in the same thread images would get lost. There are well over 300 posts per day and if they were all in a few select threads your comment and image would be lost in the others.

As the forum is soo busy now its good for people to see separate sections - some they might not want to comment on, so, they cam skip past that thread and move on to the next.

I am constantly keeping an eye on the forums to make sure that they are all used on a regular basis - if they are not then they will be absorbed by one of the others.

It may be a good forum Renee but having to have an account and then jump thru the hoops puts me off.
Members not going off subject would be a pleasant change but then a lot of interesting threads have developed thru this on this forum; equally a lot of dross has been generated by this practice.
