I have just updated my website from being very white to very black. I have changed a few little bits and am now in the process of building a new gallery. Could someone please have a run through and see whether I have made any obvious bloomers? Critique and feedback is appreciated.

Alan Ive had a look at the Mark2 website and its a vast improvment.
Some very minor things.
Should be "Services" not "Service" on the front page.
The contract form is in grey when the rest of the text on the site is white.
There are a few too mant colours for me - Pink Green Blue Yellow White - Only my opinion.
I have a contact form rather than just a link to a blank email - just a thought - this way you get all the information you need - they are really easy to set up.
Plus points
The site is easy to navigate - Text is easy to read - Great opening picture - All the info needed is there
This is turning into a really nice site. You will be saving a fortune doing it yourself (Just like me) as well. Its a very steep learning curve - my only advice is always keep a backup copy of when you last liked your site. One bit of code in the wrong place and the whole thing is ruined.
Keep working on it its a never ending process - a tweek here a tweek there.

Ok, here goes, just my opinion, so I hope you don't think I'm being 'picky'
I prefer the statement 'Same sex couples' as opposed to 'Gay'
You state
'processes throughout and our care and attention to detail ensures that your photographs will look as good as new for many years to come.'
Implication - your photographs may deteriate in time ...
Prices page, way too many colours, looks like a Toys 'R' Us advert - it doesn't look 'sophisticated'.
You state :
'And should you decide to go elsewhere for your wedding photographer, Kent Wedding Photo would like to take this opportunity to wish you both all the very best for your special day!'
Get that out !!! I know you're being nice, but it's almost like you're not confident of getting the business for some reason ...

Thanks Martin and Storm 7. I have added the 's' to services but have left 'gay couples' because down here the term is used by everyone including gays. It's no big deal. I have changed the 'toys r us' coloured text on the prices page back to white - don't know what came over me there! All links are now blue and I think the site new looks a bit better as a result of your advice. I have now added some photos into the gallery and would like to know what you think of this feature?
Many thanks Alan

a very good improvement, less colours= better its less confusing and garish to the eye. Could the text perhaps be a bit smaller so that you dont hav eto scroll down, it seems like you are trying to fill space by having the writing big. Lovely image for the opening when you are on the website. Well done keep it coming!

Getting very nice Alan. I'd agree with Storm7 about being nice if you don't get the work, don't do it. Turn it round so you are sure they will a photographic record that they will treasure for the rest of their lives, aways assume you are the one they will choose.
I've not seen anything about deposits, what ever you do don't have deposits; they are refundable; have 'booking fee' which is not returnable but allowed against the cost of the package, not only is this a legal nicety it also sound as if they are getting something for nothing. I used to allow the booking fee from a cancelled date against a rebooking within six months.

I have had a few problems with my updated site. Some people have told me that when they viewed it in their browsers it was right over to the right and in one case partly off the screen. This never happened in the first version and this has been causing me a great deal of concern. Anyway, I have spent hours trying to remedy this and think I have found the cause - it's to do with the 'centralisation' and 'dynamic browswer settings'. Could you please all check to see whether it sits correctly in your browsers. Thanks for your assistance. Alan

Oh no!!!!!!
I thought my site was fine until I went into work and looked at it on one of the machines that run on Windows 2000. It was awful, it didn't recognise my site's font and it was all 'askew'.
I have spent the last three hours sorting it out - some of the pictures were 'nudging' the placeholder. I changed the font to Arial and hope that Windows 2000 will recognise that one. I've also removed a page and tidied things up a bit.
Any feedback on this updated version?

Iv'e had another play with my site and have made it a little more slick and slightly different in appearance. When you go to the home page you will see the telephone no down the right hand site. Click a link to another page and see what happens. A vertical scroll bar appears just to the left of the tel no and when you scroll down the tel no stays put. Just doing some work o a new gallery now but just wanted some feedback on first impressions on this new look? Many thanks Alan
