Work as a designer both print and web and have built my own site for sideline wedding photography. Have kept the design to a minimum to keep download to a minimum and to get green lights from www.websiteoptimization.com (http://www.websiteoptimization.com)
this helps with SEO and the site currently ranks on first page of all search engines, apart from Google (page 2). Get ALL my work just through search engines. Opinions welcome though. Oh the name have a Basset Hound who howls so bought the domain name before the business. But its catchy and nobody has ever questioned me about the naming strrategy.
