Soley rely on search engines to get all my work and have invested a lot of time optimising my site howlingbasset.com (http://www.howlingbasset.com) to get into the first few positions on the main search engines. Then having the marketing message very clear so prospectives stay and have a look.

I agree with Bindii, Please stop with the promotion stuff and join in the spirit of this forum which is to cc each others pics, offer friendly advise (whether asked for or not) and provide a friendly community for it's members.....in other words shape up or ship out.

Yes I've deleted one of these last night.

Basically "How to" regarding search engines and site
is all out there... It's all on the web...

If you want to pay someone to do it, fine, if not
put in a little bit of leg work and you can do it yourself.

A good photogapher would rely on word of mouth from
satisified customers and use the Net as a tool...

I've a lazy afternoon so typed in 'wedding photographer kent'; web designer kent' and graphics designer kent' into Google. Interesting; a noisy hound did not appear on any of the front two pages.

I don't know Tony - I just checked and he was on the first page along with all the usual names who advertise like crazy. i did not make the top two at all and don't really care that much! None of the big boys from Kent are on their and I imagine that that probably applies to most counties.

I met a couple of wedding togs from Kent recently and they boasted who they where spent a lot of time optimizing their site for search engines. I had a look and their site was rubbish - no wonder they need to advertise as they cannot get any reccies!
