Just followed a tutorial which tenchy suggested in my other thread and just wondered if im acually going the right way about improving the picture or going all wrong. All tips and advice would be welcome thanks.

Assuming first is before and second is after, I can see an improvement.
The second looks less 'muddy', has a bit better contrast, and has nicer colours.
What did you do?

Followed the steps on the tutorial really and just played around with the selective colours and saturation. To be honest i dont know completely, just played around.

I recommend understanding what you are tweaking. If you just played around, without knowing what made a difference, it will be hard and frustrating to do that again reliably...
Anyway - there is time to learn!

As long as you don't flatten the image, and save as a PSD, you can always go back and see what you did.
Main thing is to get stuck in there, but with an eye on what you've done.

I much prefure the first! I think the colours match the mood and location of the picture and that the second's redy-ness of the brick work takes the natural, cooling and tranquil look and feel. But thats just my view ahaa

no i think the second is better... the colours are nicer and the image doesn't look as flat. as has been said, make sure you remember what you did so you can repeat!
